The neonatologist we have been talking with from South Bend, IN said this to me on the phone the other night and it has stayed in my thoughts ever since then..."Even if they cannot walk or speak, if a child is able to receive and give love, then it is a life worthwhile to God."

As I contemplate the reality of this statement tears come freely, wishing I could understand why babies need to suffer.
