Someone didn't follow the doctor's advice

and landed in the hospital a month later. The second time in a month my Dad defied the doctor's orders to stay away from uneven ground around the pond. Instead he waded in the water with his boots to clear the creek bed of debri. "It was looking terrible," was Mom's excuse whose never ending energy sparks the competitive spirit in my Dad. He can't stand seeing Mom out "clearing the woodland" in the back of their property. Anna says, "were you doing things you shouldn't have been doing?" She got called in the middle of the night, close to midnight to rescue Dad from off the toilet. His hip had slipped out of place as he tried to stand up. It took both Anna and Frank to rescue him, but then he couldn't lay down because of the pain, so they called the ambulance and they escorted him to the hospital. However, the Emergency Doctor couldn't put the artificial hip back in place the second time. So, he had to wait until the next day at 3 pm to have the orthopedic surgeon put it into place. However, the Doctor said it won't stay in place with any movement. So, two days later he is still in the hospital. They didn't recommend surgery because of Dad's weak heart. They are considering referring him out for Reconstructive surgery, but the need to have him recoup from this trauma. He was running a fever today and the Splint is coming tomorrow. He may make it home in time for the Annual Yoder family reunion tomorrow night.......maybe. (deep sigh)
