Weeweechu a Merry Christmas

Jen and Beth were in charge of the party. They decided we would all give $25 toward fruit baskets and then go caroling. So caroling we did go.

Instead of exchanging gifts we were to find a funny Christmas card to exchange. We worked all day on Friday and then spent the evening caroling and handing out most of our fruit baskets. We went to Jan's house afterwards where Jim had a hot pot of soup waiting for our carry in meal. Our fruit basket recipients had been contacted by Jen and Beth and so most of our caroling was done inside of their homes and we were treated with an array of sweets. We will leave our recipients unnamed so you other patients won't feel left out! To be honest we have to be HIPPA compliant...A late evening of supper coupled with very little R&R left the “old people” of our staff with too little Immune antibodies. So now we are staying home on a Sunday to build up our Immune system enough to return to work. We’ve been exposed to other staff members virus as well as patients, but can no longer feel smug about being well prepared for the “cold and virus” season. It stinks to feel bad, but it does make us a little more compassionate.

The next evening, on Saturday about 5:30pm, the staff convoy met again to finish our caroling and then commence to our official Christmas dinner. Tears of thanksgiving in the patient's eyes rewarded all the efforts the girls had gone to prepare.
We ended up at Lavern and Ruby’s for a festive ambience and wonderful food: appetizers of crackers and cheese, hot cider, Roast Beef, chicken, mashed potatoes, noodles, beans, three salads, fresh bread, and two desserts to die for: cheese cake and pumpkin torte.
Our staff is wonderful and we look forward to another year of blessing the community with their help.
Dr. Bjorklund is pregnant again and we would love if you would join us in prayer for a healthy baby. The office has faced a lot of challenges this past year. We have gone from an Insurance health business to a Cash based practice in order to keep our services affordable. We have added Meridian Computerized Stress Testing. I am no longer doing Insurance. Our goal is to keep our prices affordable as factory workers continue to get laid off and lose their Insurance benefits.

As the stock market continues to plummet and we in the Health Service and Business world face a grave future, may we be reminded that we are still rich in the eyes of International peoples of the world. Many of us have two cars to drive, plenty of food to eat, warm homes, children coming home for Christmas.
