Julie was the nurse who came with the ambulance to transport Olive from the airport to Memorial Hospital. She also prepared Olive for surgery and was successful in getting her IV in her foot. She kept her comfortable before and after the surgery. Thank you Julie. Olive went into the surgery peacefully and was peaceful all afternoon. She was not aware much of our presence today, although her small fingers still grasped ours. Anna and Frank spent the day with us at the hospital. Anna covered Olive with prayer before and after the surgery. I was in awe that my sisters and brother have gotten so involved in their niece's life. Other participants in the surgery waiting room were Conrad Showalter, Katrina and Iris. The Rupps joined us as the neurosurgeon gave us the good news that Olive had come through the Shunt surgery well. Your prayers were answered for Olive's surgery. We were very blessed to have this Neurosurgeon perform the Shunt surgery, according to Dr White. Our family is so grateful for the way Dr White has brought peace to Lynette and Rusty's weary souls. They are still recovering from jet leg and the long awaited Shunt surgery. We left them weary as the New Year comes in tonight.
We are in awe with the enormity of the job the Neonatal doctors and nurses have everyday. I was also blessed by the night shifts "Happy New Year" crowns. They seemed happy to be caring for these tiny tiny babies while the rest of the world was celebrating with New Year's parties. God bless them for their tenderness. I hope they never become hardened to all the pain these Mothers and Fathers are experiencing.

yesterday was one of those 'ahhhhh' moments for me. I felt the presence and peace of God surrounding the place. It was amazing to once again see the faithfulness of God!
